Nanook achieves a compensation of more than 80 tons of CO2 with the events of 2024

At Nanook we have closed 2024 with a massive tree planting through the “Nanook Forest” project, offsetting the environmental impact generated during the events in the year.

Since the beginning of its partnership with Tree-Nation, the project has resulted in the planting of more than 1200 trees and the compensation of 89.48 tons of CO2. This is equivalent to the reforestation of 1.15 total hectares, spread around the world and thus reinforcing the global nature present in Nanook’s DNA. Some of the regions where the company has implemented this initiative are Kenya, Uganda, Romania or Tanzania.

A symbolic action to compensate the impact of our events

The offsets made in the ‘Nanook Forest’ are a symbolic action. This translates into monetary contributions aimed at promoting the economic and social development of disadvantaged families or those at risk of social exclusion.

Our partnership with Tree-Nation aims to support the population of developing countries by providing decent work opportunities, economic resources and quality education, as well as supporting the fight against desertification, wildlife conservation or the prevention of deforestation, among others. Activities carried out thanks to this program include reforestation, agroforestry, conservation and preservation, developed according to the needs of each local community.

With its most recent contribution, we support the preservation of the ecosystem of Mount Elgon in Uganda, where a potable water irrigation system is currently being developed and that will also set a reliable source for the surrounding community.
